Greg Faasen (South Africa): Just to say I managed to get a friend to get the book for me whilst he was in the UK over Christmas and finally got my hands on it a few days ago. I must congratulate you on a magnificent publication. I get goose bumps every time I open it – it is so personal, yet covers so many historical and factual incidents – kits, matches etc. It is, kind of, a West Ham bible! How you managed to decide what to include and what to leave out I will never know. So, thank you for including me in this epic edition – my family is proud to have their husband and dad in such a fine book and it just makes me all the prouder to be associated with this exceptional club, albeit from thousands of miles away.
Gary Bush: Hope the Memories book is continuing to sell really well. Have read through it twice now and it is by far the best Hammers book on my shelf and I have many.
Andy Bright: Just got the book and after a quick look, I can't believe the quality of it. Certainly stirs a few memories for a kid from the 70s brought up on Bonds, Brooking , Subbuteo and Match of the Day. Somehow I don't think the pilgrimage from Bristol to Stratford is going to have the same feeling.
Tony Cullen: Upton Park Memories is fantastic. Not read it all, but keep dipping in and out. My daughter, who by the way has no interest at all in football, looked at it and was very complimentary. She loved the way it's put together. One of the best she had seen. Many thanks for including my articles, especially adding the photo of Geoff Hurst scoring the goal, it made it extra special. Good luck with the book, I already have several copies . . . Christmas presents for my brothers who, like me, all are very impressed. What a huge task you took on preparing and publishing such a wonderful book. I'm sure it will become the primary source of Upton Park history, together with showing how the club is embraced by the people involved in making it more than just a football team. Thanks for the memories.
Eamonn McManus: Got to say, it’s a tear jerker. Christmas was full of memories and the sad realisation that we have to move on.
Paul Codling: I already have the book and being a die-hard Hammer (living in Stockport, near Manchester) and collector of WHU memorabilia for the last 40 years, I have to say this ranks very highly in my collection - an absolute must for all Hammers fans. Reading the book has brought many a tear to me eye."
Alan Byrne: Just wanted to drop you a line to congratulate you on what a good job you've done on Upton Park Memories. It is superb and a fitting tribute to not only our magnificent ground of over 100 years, but also the people and places that made it so special to so many of us. Having been watching matches there from late '71, there were so many memories brought back just through reading this book. As mentioned within, who can forget that special feeling once turning the corner from Green Street and seeing either The Big Match or BBC TV truck parked there, knowing you could therefore see the highlights on TV (preferably ITV's Brian Moore, not that awful Motson, who in my opinion always seemed to be 30 seconds behind the action in his commentary!). Thanks for keeping the memories alive, and keep up the good work with EX magazine.
Robin Punter: Can highly recommend it. I have about 40 West Ham United books in my collection and even though I haven't read it yet, just leafing through it makes me realise that this will be THE BEST EVER book about West Ham (apologies to Robert Banks, et al) . Superb, stunning but more so than that, the best description is SUMPTUOUS. Just buy it, now!
Rob Hirst: It's brilliant. Thanks for something that will be treasured and repeatedly read. Everyone should own this book.
Jason Mitchell: Great job. Best West Ham book for many a year.
Sandra Edgington: It's a brilliant book, everyone should buy it.
Darren Williams (@DarrenW35948555): It is the best Hammers book I own, an absolute must-have. The best-ever souvenir of the ground.
Kevin Kemp: Well done, fantastic book, It's the best £20 I've spent.
Gary Miller: Got mine for Xmas and bought one for my dad. Contained between the covers is what supporting West Ham United is all about, the fans, the players and of course, Upton Park. Thanks for producing such a gem.
Ric Ksta: So pleased with the book. Absolute pleasure to walk down memory lane with this cracking book.
Gary White: Just a note to tell you what a great book the above is. I just can't put it down and have learned a lot about the club in the process. Well done, you have done the old stadium proud.
Martin Luke: Brought three. One for myself and two for Christmas presents. Got a lot of West Ham-related books. If there is a better one, I have not seen it.
Rob Robinson: Brilliant book. Every fan needs to get a copy.
Graham Cox (@orientcox): My dad was a 60s die-hard. Pretends he doesn't care anymore. Loved the book. Best memory was 7-0 win over Leeds in League Cup.
Andy (@Slipperyd00dah): Definitive book, a must for any West Ham fan. Great pics too.
Ian (@stoneleighwhu): Highly recommended, fantastic book.
DONNA MARIE: One of the best WHU books I have ever read.
STEVE BURTON: Brilliant one for the collection.
JOHN LAWRENCE: Thought I would take the time to say a big thank you and a bigger well done for producing that masterpiece of a book. This ranks easily alongside the Guinness books as a must-read and definitely the best £20 I have spent in a long time.
GARY BUSH: As sad as it may be, I thought I had to make time to send you this email, even though it is on Christmas Day! What an absolute masterpiece your UPTON PARK MEMORIES book is. I have now devoured each and every page and shall do so time and time again. To say you’ve done the old ground justice would be an understatement. I knew you’d come good once I first heard about your idea of putting it all together in print and, boy, have you come good! I wasn’t expecting all the memorabilia features, programme covers, etc, and it all adds so much to a great book. I loved reading all the players' and fans' tales and although I’ve collected Irons bits and pieces for as long as I can remember, some of the photos included are ones I have never clapped eyes on before, so credit to you for including them. Do I have any negatives about the book? No, not at all. My only gripe may be a modern day one . . . and, sadly, that is not enough younger fans may be bothered to buy it. I hope I’m wrong, because they would be missing out on so much history of this great football ground of ours. I’m sure it will sell like hot cakes to our older generation, though, it certainly deserves to. Finally, thanks for including some of my tales but had you not had the space to do so, it certainly wouldn’t have detracted from the pleasure it’s given me reading through it. All the very best with your sales and many thanks once again for this tremendous publication which now takes pride of place on my bookshelf and shall be shown to whoever visits my house, should they follow West Ham or not!
STEVE MARSH: A great publication which you must be proud of. Enjoying the read and the memories.
EVELYN CLEWES: Received my copy of your book, this morning. Beautiful pictures. Terrific descriptions. Really took me back about 50 years.
ARNE KOELLNER: As a contributor to your Upton Park Memories, I just wanted to drop you a few lines to congratulate you on a marvellous effort. When your book arrived I was over the moon. I attended a hockey game tonight but had the book with me, so I have merely caught some initial glimpses so far, but what can I say? Just WOW! It's a proper hardback book to begin with, the photos you have chosen are fantastic and evoke so many emotions and memories (although a lot of stuff is obviously from well before my Hammer-supporting days in 1996). I'm not ashamed to say that this will be among the most cherished books in my personal library and I will cherish this for years to come, browsing through it time and time again, I'm sure of that. You've done a wonderful job with it and I'll love reading up on all of those lovely memories from fellow fans, some of which I've had the pleasure to meet in person, others I only know about or have read their books/magazines in the past.
GARY OSBORNE: I have not been able to put this great book down, it's bringing back so many memories. This will forever be a classic book which all future generations will also cherish to know a true history of our great club. I would recommended any West Ham fan to buy this book . . . lots of fine detail and great planning went into what is, without doubt, one of the best West Ham books ever produced.
STEVE DERBY: I knew that it would be good, but not as good as it has turned out. It is a superb effort and congratulations to you and your team for such a splendid effort.

LIAM TYRELL: I fully entrusted Ex Hammers Tony Mac to produce a worthy and fitting Boleyn Ground book to mark the end of an era. Picked up my copy yesterday and pleased to confirm it is even better than expected. Blown away by some of the seen-for-the-first-time pictures. Love the way people's personal contributions flow through the book alongside all the facts, moments in history and key figures. Proud to have contributed to such an epic homage to the Boleyn Ground, alongside many good friends and acquaintances too. Love the way it's all been put together.
RICHARD MILLER: Many congratulations on producing such a superb, first class publication which will ensure Upton Park and all the marvellous memories held by so many West Ham supporters of great matches and Hammers legends will now live forever and never be forgotten, as well as providing a fascinating history for all the future generations of Hammers fans. Personally, I am delighted that I was offered the opportunity of making a small contribution to such an excellent book.
IAN BURBEDGE: Great book, well done. JOHN LEDINGTON: Fantastic book, many thanks.
MARCO TAVIANI: Just wanted to say a huge 'thank you!' for the Upton Park Memories book. Words cannot describe enough how great this book is and just what we needed to remember our great stadium with. Well done to all who contributed to this, and to Tony and the team for putting it all together.
JEFF MACMAHON: Congratulations Ex Hammers Tony Mac on producing a really great reminder of why we all love this club and ground. It was a wonderful idea to make a book of memories, rather than the usual factual author's account. I also think it will stand the test of time for future Hammers generations.
ROBERT BANKS: Possibly the most absorbing and brilliant reference material about West Ham. Ever. 372 pages in colour.
ALAN DEADMAN: Excellent, one of the best-ever West Ham books.
REUBEN GANE: Your book arrived yesterday and I haven't put it down yet! I think that you have got a winner here, mate! What a great book Upton Park Memories has turned out to be. It's packed with fabulous factual tales, stories and photographs of the home of the Hammers. The book's a gem and easily one of the best 'West Ham United' books ever produced. It's a must for all West Ham fans, together with all followers of real English football history.
IAN NUNNEY: Well impressed with the book. Started reading as soon as I received my copy. I am very proud and honoured to be part of it. Fantastic photos that bring back great memories. Many thanks. Best £20 quid spent in a long time.
JOHN WALSH: Brought back even more memories of my time supporting the Hammers since the early 50s. Thanks for putting this together.
ExWHUEmployee (from the website www.thewesthamway.co.uk): So there I was before the game against Stoke City walking to the ground from the station and looking at all the West Ham-related stalls and cafes filled with West Ham fans and I thought how sad it will be when we leave this great stadium. I have had a season ticket for 25 years and I have gone with my dad ever since I was eight! We have sat in the same seat for all those years and my dad had these seats with his dad (my grandad) before I came along. Whilst I am very pro the move to the Olympic Stadium, I can't help but get more emotional each game that we have left. I thought to myself, I want to take as many memories away from this place as I possibly can. It was at that point I saw a stall outside the ground selling this wonderful book, Upton Park Memories – a beautifully constructed book with memories that go throughout our great stadium's history. I had a quick flick through and thought to myself this is the book I want for Christmas and bought myself a present from Santa! It is a must for all fans and will be something to show future generations when they ask what Upton Park was like, or as a way for people to visualise your memories. You really will not be disappointed with this purchase.
PAUL COCKERELL: I received my copy this morning. All I can say is, thank you. It is absolutely stunning! All I've managed so far is a quick flick through (stopping to read my contribution, of course!) and just as you suggested, I'm already getting emotional. The photos are truly incredible. There are so, so many which I've never seen before. I intended to read Memories from cover to cover over the Christmas period but I don't think I'll be able to wait that long. If the commercial dept. of WHUFC has any savvy, they'll offer you a deal and make your book available at all of its retail outlets immediately. Many congratulations and here's hoping you receive all of the recognition that you and your incredible book deserves.
JOHN NORTHCUTT (author of a number of books on West Ham United): I received Upton Park Memories today and wish to congratulate you on producing such an excellent publication. I am sure it will be treasured by all like myself who contributed in some way. Great photos, great memories and a wonderful souvenir of the ground.
ROB ROBINSON: Have just received my copy of Upton Park Memories and would like to congratulate EX Hammers' Tony Mac on an excellent book which is a MUST for all true Hammers fans, young and old. It is marvellous that you care so passionately about our wonderful club to produce the book. Also must congratulate the many fans who have contributed to the publication. Without them sharing their many memories of our wonderful club that has graced Upton Park since 1904 a lot of our famous history would have been lost. Will West Ham United be the same club at the Olympic Stadium? I doubt it. But times change. West Ham will always be my club. BUT Upton Park will always be my spiritual home for us. Hence the importance of Upton Park Memories.
PAUL FORD: I must congratulate you on a superb book. It evokes so many memories of times spent at The Boleyn. Well done on a fabulous effort.
TONY HOSKINS: Fantastic . . . what a treasure trove of our club's rich history and its loyal supporters.
BILL TAYLOR: Fantastic book! Ordered another for my mate's Xmas present. It's a must-buy, people!
MARK MATTHEWS: It really is excellent. A great memento containing so many great memories. And I'm not just saying that because I'm in it either !
DARREN WILLIAMS: Beautiful book. Great work by everyone who contributed. A superb souvenir. COYI.
MARK SANDELL: You're a West Ham United fan and haven't bought this book? Why not? Pure claret-and-blue nostalgia from @EXHammers
