HARRY REDKNAPP TALKS EXCLUSIVELY TO EX
Friday 18 November, 2005
EX Magazine has landed another blockbuster exclusive interview this time with former Hammers' boss Harry Redknapp.
Redknapp, who played for and managed the club, entertained EX Editor Tony McDonald and colleague Terry Connelly at his luxurious £8.5m south coast mansion this week and the result of more than three hours of interview tape will dominate issues 29 and 30 of our retro magazine.
As expected, 'H' gives a no-holds barred account of his seven years as manager at Upton Park.
He talks with typical candour about a wide range of burning issues that will interest West Ham fans of all ages. Like...
His anger at the way Bobby Moore was treated; his best and worst signings; what it was like trying to handle the explosive Paolo Di Canio; the background to his fall out with former best mate Billy Bonds; his shock dismissal in 2001; and why he phoned the club twice to complain about their treatment of him AFTER he left.
Harry also looks back on his early days at the Boleyn as a player, pinpointing why the talented team of the late 60s/early 70s never fulfilled its potential; why wingers are a dying breed; and what he thinks of his manager at the time, Ron Greenwood.
All this, and more, coming your way in the next couple of issues of EX, so don't miss 'em! Issue 29 goes on sale outside the ground at the Manchester United home game on November 27, while subscribers' copies will be mailed out the previous Friday.
