NEXT May will mark the 50th anniversary of West Ham United’s first FA Cup triumph – and we won’t let this landmark occasion pass without celebration.

To commemorate our 3-2 victory against Preston North End in 1964 we will be presenting a special edition of EX.

Issue 71 (the one after next) will be packed with recollections from the players who made history and, of course, plenty of pictures from that momentous day, including a number that have never previously been published.

Most importantly, we want to hear from YOU, the supporters who attended the ’64 final. Please write in – ideally by emailing editorial©ex-hammers.com or send a letter to our address on the left of this page ASAP – with your personal memories and anecdotes from, or relating to, that special day and the team’s victorious homecoming through the streets of East London.

Or maybe you have a funny anecdote relating to one of the cup ties en route to the final, where we met Charlton, Leyton Orient, Swindon, Burnley and Man Utd on the path to glory? Any stories about how you obtained your ticket, or the experience of queuing up for one before the big day itself? Were you among the thousands who stood in the rain on the open terrace to watch the semi at Hillsborough?

Also, do you have any unusual memorabilia relating to the final that we could reproduce in EX? We already have a match ticket, official programme and all newspaper reports and cuttings, so please don’t send those. But maybe you have something quirky that is worth sharing with other readers – perhaps pictures taken by yourself? If so, please get in touch as soon as possible.
