EX-HAMMERS IN GREAT ORMOND STREET CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL APPEAL
Monday 23 May, 2011
ESSEX-based football events company Football For Fans have organised a special match at West Ham United on Monday, June 6 (kick-off 7.30pm) which will see a star studded Hammers line-up take on a team that will represent Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity.
The Ex-Hammers squad is as follows: Allen McKnight, Kenny Brown, Nigel Winterburn, Keith Rowland, Steve Potts, Ian Pearce, Mark Ward, Julian Dicks, Steve Lomas, Kevin Keen, Mark Robson, Paul Allen, Geoff Pike, Don Hutchison, Stuart Slater. The team will be managed by former Hammers legend Tony Cottee.
Jeff Garner of Football For Fans said: "This is possibly our most ambitious event to date and as a Hammers fan I am delighted with the ex-West Ham squad which has been assembled for this match. There are some great names and they will be led out onto the pitch by Jonjo Heuerman who must be our special 'Hammer Of The Year' this year for his fantastic fundraising efforts for The Bobby Moore Fund. A couple of young Hammers fans, who are patients of the hospital, will be leading out the GOSHCC team.
"It should be a fun evening and early interest in the match has been very pleasing, so we are hoping for a good attendance."
You can pay at the gate on the night and admission is £5 adults and free for children under-16. It is likely that seating will be limited to the lower tier of the West Stand, so for those wishing to purchase tickets in advance, please contact Kerry on 07773 776941 (Monday to Friday only).
